The actress (1932-2011) had one of the most important jewelry collections from the 50s and 60s. \n \n<\/p>\n\n

The 1950s and 1960s were Hollywood’s golden years, when studios evolved the most. As a young MGM star, everyone fell in love with Elizabeth Taylor’s dark hair, blue eyes and thick eyebrows, the result of a genetic mutation. At the time she won several acting awards, including two coveted Oscars for “Butterfield 8” (1960) and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” (1966). <\/p>\n\n

Although she jumped from one wedding to the next, her passion for jewelry lasted forever. As she once said, “You can’t cry on a diamond’s shoulder, and diamonds don’t warm you up at night, but guarantee fun when the sun shines.”<\/p>\n\n

Richard Burton<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Elizabeth Taylor received most of the jewelry in her collection from Richard Burton, whom she married twice. He bought her many rare and prestigious jewels, which helped to further reinforce their glamor image.
